the act or an instance of motivatingor providing with a reason to act in a certain way. motive, inspiration, inducement,cause, impetus.

Antonyms: Gentry Sauder

Oh what?! Your version doesn't have that last antonym?  I sure as heck could use some inspiration or motivation to do much of anything besides curl up in sweats and watch things on my DVR.  And by things I really mean The Bachelor.  I'll admit it...I'm completely hooked this season.  And let's just say that this last one where he went and kicked off Des was a real bummer for me.  He's got three randos left if you ask me.

In other news, the lack of motivation is largely in part to this lovely treat awaiting me...

Yes, some genius teacher thought it'd be a great idea to assign an essay.
I suppose this would not be the opportune time to gloat that I technically could work on these tomorrow while I enjoy my snow day?? (Curled up in sweats with my shows on, of course)  You should have heard my classroom when they announced that there would be no school tomorrow....shouts of joy...and the students were pretty excited too. :)

I spent this past weekend visiting my cruising buddies Tax season is in full swing which meant I saw the dynamic duo in action.

Working hard at the office

When he's not busy crunching numbers, you can find him perfecting one of his best known talents...the "crink your neck while sleeping and still holding on to the TV remote" move.
My grandma is knitting me a scarf there!  That would be one of her best known talents.  Check out the super cute gloves she sent me home with:

Notice the adorable bows on them.  Hope you all stay safe and warm out there--so much for my bragging on Groundhog Phil and his lovely warm weather prediction.  But a snow day? Yes please!

Manhappiness!

Last weekend I got to go back and visit one of the greatest places on Earth...good ol' Manhattan, KS.  My bff, Chyla,  and her husband live there so it made for an extra special weekend to stay with them in their adorable house.

It was so fun and also a bit weird to be back in the land of purple.  College seems like a whole lifetime ago and realizing that I've almost been in Wichita for as long as I was in Manhattan is crazy.  We hit the hot spots of boutiques in Aggie Ville, Rock-a-Belly Deli (yum), Sonic happy hour (that's a hot spot for me regardless the city), drove through campus, and even tried to get a tour of Gamma Phi.  On our way over there I told Chyla that no one would answer the doorbell...and I totally called it.  Turns out there are some things that don't change over time and g-phis being lazy too busy studying on a Saturday to answer the door is one of them.  Maybe next time.

I'm blurry for some reason...
There's a decent number of my good friends from college still in Manhattan working for a campus ministry so we all got together for dinner Saturday night.  I totally failed and forgot to get a pic of us--we were too busy catching up. sharing stories, and laughing.  Love you girls! And thanks Cooper's for the extra bedroom :)

Titles are Overrated

Hello February...you've come so quickly and with hopes of an early Spring!  Thank you, Groundhog Phil.  Although others may doubt your reliability beings that you're a furry little thing, I trust the track record of success you've had since 1887.  (Yes, I may have done my groundhog research.)

So...with hopes of early warm weather, why not be spontaneous for the year 2013 and book a cruise with your very fun travel agent aunt, and extended family?? Yep! I've got my plane ticket and I'm on board this little number in May for a three day cruise.

The cruise is over my birthday, so why not celebrate the big 2-6 in the Bahamas!*

As for my 2013 goals-- I'd say they're going ok.  Well, I had to read that entry to remind myself of what my goals were, so maybe they're not going that well.  Sending cards, yes.  Drinking less pop and working out, no....like not even close.  One year Bible, yes.  Reading more books in general....I'll have to count my master's class textbook for now.

All in all, it's been a good 2013!  Now just to make it through parent/teacher conferences next week and enjoy a four day weekend.

*If you've seen a trend that I only vacation in warm places, you'd be correct.
